What we do, in one paragraph
We are engaged by the companies whose software produces records someone may later question. We do not own those products and we do not operate them. We guarantee four properties inside them: security by design, fit with the regulations the product answers to, AI that runs where the data already lives, and immutability for the records that must not change silently. Where building is the surest route to a guarantee, we build the components that deliver it.
Products where an engagement is current carry the mark Secured by Bitwise Lab.
Scale, stated plainly
Bitwise Lab is small and specialised, which is the point rather than an apology for it. We are engaged for four guarantees and we decline work outside them, because a supplier who accepts everything stops being able to answer for anything. If your process requires a minimum supplier size or a certified supplier, say so early and we will tell you whether we can meet it rather than discovering it at the end.
Where to look next
- Security and jurisdiction, if you are running a security review.
- How an engagement works, if you are considering one.
- The capability mark, if you followed it here from a product.
- Student projects and internships, if you are a student or a university.
Questions we get asked
-
Q1. Where is Bitwise Lab based?
In the Porto region of Portugal, and so inside the European Union. The registered address is on this page and in the structured data on every page of this site.
-
Q2. Who is the contracting entity?
Bitwise Lab is the trading name. Contracts and invoices are issued under a registered legal name and tax number, which we provide with a proposal and on request for a supplier form. We do not publish them here, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an omission.
-
Q3. How do we verify any of this?
The address is published here and in the footer of every page. Once you have the legal name and tax number, both can be checked against the Portuguese company registry. Ask for anything else your review needs and we will answer it directly.
-
Q4. How do we keep up with what you publish?
Through the articles on this site and the LinkedIn page. There is no newsletter, because we would rather write something worth reading occasionally than send something regularly.
